
The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Chickasaws defeated Jonesboro 24-20 in a preseason game Aug. 24 at Jonesboro.

The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws volleyball team (0-2) was controlled at Paragould 25-5, 25-7, 25-5 in AAAAA-East action on Aug. 24, and the "B" Lady Chickasaws fell to the JV Lady Rams 25-5, 25-9.

The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws (0-1) on Aug. 24 lost at Paragould 25-2, 25-12 in AAAAA-East play, and the BMS seventh-graders (0-1) were defeated 25-10, 25-11.

Students' first holiday is coming up! September 1 will be a teacher development day and students will have the day off.

The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws began their overall and AAAAA-East volleyball season on Aug. 22 by losing at Valley View 25-6, 25-10, 25-7.

Students, teachers and administrators of the Tenaris Academic Excellence Afterschool Program who visited Grant's Farm in St. Louis on July 25. The students visited as part of their summer program.

Great River Medical Center will be hosting a physical clinic for student athletes grades 7-12 at BMS on Wednesday, July 26th starting at 8:30 am. This will be for all fall sports - volleyball, football, basketball, and cheer. (There will be another clinic for the spring sports.) Volunteer doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and clerical workers will be present and giving of their time for our students! Contact your coach if you would like to receive a time slot for a free physical along with permission and medical release forms. This is a great opportunity - don't miss out!
