BHS Trap Team Competes in Regional Competition

Blytheville High School's "Shooting Chickasaws" trap team competed at the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program (AYSSP) East Region Senior competition in Jacksonville on May 21, 2022, sponsored by the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission.

Blytheville's top shooter this year was Tyler Landry, a senior who hit 42 out of a possible 50 targets. Other shooters who qualified to compete in the regional tournament were Sam Appleby (senior), Ollie Newbern (junior), and Kate Walker (freshman). BHS teacher, Ben Rutherford, serves as the team's head coach, assisted by Candie Groves, BHS teacher, Kevin Landry, parent volunteer, and J.D. Harris, community volunteer.
